The Willamette Valley Sustainable Foods Alliance
is a regional trade association of companies that promote natural food businesses through relationships, education and sustainable business practices.
The local food trade is made up of retailers, food manufacturers, restaurateurs, distributors and farmers. These people work in alliance to bring you fresh, sustainably-produced food that feeds local people and our local economy. Local foods are those that are locally grown and harvested and/or locally made from a combination of ingredients. By buying foods grown or made locally, you are getting the freshest foods and helping our local businesses at the same time.
There are lots of places to find local sustainable foods in the Willamette Valley. The WVSFA aims to unite the local food trade for you, our consumers and friends. If you support local food production, like us on Facebook.
The WVSFA hosts community events such as Fun with Fermentation, an annual event to educate the community about fermented foods. Fun with Fermentation is held in January each year as a fundraiser for Food for Lane County. The event includes tastings and demonstrations on making fermented foods like cheese, kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, wine and bread.
A huge thank you to all of our members for your continued support and interest. Without you, we would not be able to offer such events as Fun with Fermentation, Educational Meetings, and participate in local events such as the Eugene Celebration. We are proud to promote such a remarkable group of environmentally conscious companies and will continue to do so, proudly.
